Our History

1945

Alsop Insurance

Alsop Insurance was founded in 1945 by Fred Alsop. Fred operated out of his home in Stouffville. He worked as an insurance broker, supplementing his income driving a taxi part time. As the business grew, he discontinued the taxi service and focused solely on insurance.

1954

Office on Main Street

In 1954, Fred constructed the current office on Main Street and moved the business out of his home. The brokerage has been located in the same location ever since. I

1964

In 1964, Fred's son Dennis entered the business. As time progressed, Dennis took over the day-to-day operation of the business from his father.

2002

Scott Alsop and Jeremy Wideman joined him as equal partners in 2002 until Dennis retired in 2014.

Today

Scott and Jeremy are at the helm, steering Alsop Insurance along Dennis and Fred's guiding principles of customer care.
